I’m a foodie and creative based in Kitsap County, Washington. Currently: professional sourdough baker at Oxalis Kitchen, Poulsbo, WA. I take painting commissions and teach freelance bread and plein air painting courses as much as possible. I love to swim in the Puget Sound, paint on hikes and trail runs, and read books curled up with my Siberian cat, Mosi. I dream of self publishing children books and illustrating my own cookbook. Later in life I can see myself running a Bed and Breakfast where I can showcase local art as well as my own art. I believe art has “terroir” just like food. When we dip into new places, it is centering to connect with the land through a local hike or the way it tastes from local produce on the plate. So, to me, it’s not such a leap to also appreciate the way land inspires the resident artist to create — it is all a part of the genuine experience of connecting. Additionally, I grew up with a very strong sense of design in my childhood home so it would be a pleasure to create a home environment for guests in my favorite place in the world, the Washington Peninsula.
